Empire Welding (USA) is tapping into new business areas with the ASCO P28 dry ice pelletiser

“Empire Welding” offers a wide range of welding machines and accessories, as well as CO₂ cylinders, helium and safety equipment. Part of their service is same-day delivery of their products, including dry ice pellets, on the day the order is placed. Alongside his main business in welding accessories, Felix Ortiz has successfully started selling dry ice to various industries in his local area, including cannabis growers and food suppliers. The main customers for dry ice come from the currently fast-growing cannabis industry. They use an ASCO P28 dry ice pelletiser producing 16 mm pellets and 11 ASCO AT240W dry ice containers.

Felix Ortiz is very satisfied with the dry ice pelletiser: “The machine is easy to operate and very powerful. It is also reliable for large orders, as it can produce up to 280 kg/h.”

Thanks to ASCO’s dry ice technology, the company is now independent and no longer has to rely on the local gas supplier from whom it previously sourced dry ice. With maximum flexibility, they can produce dry ice whenever it is needed. “When you buy dry ice, you don’t always have the right amount available, and the dry ice is lost through sublimation,” Mr Ortiz tells us. “Empire Welding” is expanding its business and will soon use the freshly produced dry ice to introduce dry ice blasting as a cleaning service within the company.
