ASCO is committed to solar energy and generates its own electricity

At the end of 2021, 336 solar panels were installed on the roof of the ASCO site in Eschlikon to generate green electricity from solar radiation. The expected annual output of the solar installation has been calculated at 111,300 kWh.

ASCO’s current electricity consumption, including the operation of its own CO₂ recovery plant, amounts to an estimated annual consumption of approximately 90,000 kWh. The surplus electricity not used by ASCO is fed into the public grid as sustainable electricity.

Operation of the solar power system enables the company to achieve 70% self-sufficiency over the course of the year. By March 2022, this figure had already reached 66%.

“ASCO is proud to be making a contribution to the environment with the electricity it generates itself. In conjunction with our CO2 recovery solutions, the ASCO name now stands even more strongly for the active fight against global warming and, at the same time, helps to counter rising electricity prices,” says Ralph Spring, Managing Director.
