Independent CO2 production with ASCO in Bangladesh

By purchasing a new CO hybrid production line from ASCO, one of the most popular food and drink manufacturers in South Asia, based in Bangladesh, has made a future-proof investment.

Particularly in developing and emerging economies, a continuous supply of CO₂ cannot always be guaranteed. To avoid costly production downtime, the Bengali company has decided to produce the required CO₂ on-site using an ASCO CO plant, thereby further strengthening its competitive advantage. Thanks to this profitable investment, 1,000 kg of liquid CO2 per hour can be produced on the company’s premises in future. With a purity of up to 99.998%, the in-house produced CO2 even exceeds the required ISBT quality guidelines and thus fully complies with global food and beverage standards.

The fully automatic ASCO CO2 plant is based on the latest technologies and contains a low-concentration amine solution to extract high-quality, gaseous CO2 from the flue gas produced by the combustion of fossil fuels. What makes this case special is that it involves a custom-designed hybrid plant capable of recovering CO2 at any time from the existing flue gas generated daily during food and beverage production – doing so in an energy-efficient manner and, above all, at significantly lower production costs. Thanks to this CO2 flue gas recovery, the company emits significantly less CO2 into the atmosphere, thereby reducing its environmental footprint and consequently making a valuable contribution to environmental sustainability.
