Nigerian drinks manufacturer achieves self-sufficiency with an ASCO CO₂ production plant

ASCO KOHLENSÄURE AG is supplying an ASCO CO₂ production plant to one of Nigeria’s largest beverage manufacturers. The advanced design of the CO plant utilises the latest technologies, resulting in an extended service life, minimal environmental impact and the lowest possible CO production costs.

In the soft drinks and energy drinks sector, the Nigerian company is steadily gaining market share. With the newly acquired plant, the customer will soon be able to produce high-quality liquid CO₂ effectively, efficiently and safely, and further strengthen its position as one of the largest producers in Nigeria’s food and beverage industry. “We are very proud to support our new customer’s growth strategy with our 85 years of experience in the construction of CO₂ production plants,” agree Marco Pellegrino, CEO, and Paul Rueegg, Regional Sales Director / Specialist CO₂ Systems at ASCO KOHLENSÄURE AG.

An uninterrupted supply of CO2 cannot always be guaranteed, particularly in emerging markets. To avoid costly production downtime and maintain its own competitiveness, the Nigerian company decided to invest in its own on-site CO2 production by purchasing an ASCO CO2 production plant. Thanks to this investment, 1,000 kg of liquid CO2 per hour will soon be produced on the customer’s premises. The CO2 produced in-house offers a very high degree of purity. This final liquid purity even exceeds the required ISBT quality guidelines and thus fully complies with global food and beverage standards. The advantages of in-house CO2 production are clear: the company can produce on demand, thereby ensuring a reliable and continuous supply of CO2. From an economic perspective, it is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing liquid CO2.
