The ASCOJET 1708 Combi Blaster proves its worth in the renovation of listed buildings

During the renovation of the old station building, Kurt Schneider, a company in business since 1988, used the newly acquired ASCOJET 1708 Combi Blaster, as well as freshly produced dry ice from ASCO Kohlensäure AG. The masonry had to be exposed before the lime coating could be renewed. The biggest challenge during the renovation was removing the old lime coating without damaging the underlying structure, as the building is a listed monument.

The entire project to renovate the listed building took three weeks, and around 1,600 kg of dry ice was used. Company owner Kurt Schneider is very satisfied with the dry ice blasting machine, as he reveals in an interview: “The ASCOJET 1708 Combi Blaster is a top-class machine”. He didn’t even need to use an additive, as the dry ice itself loosened all the lime paint.

The ASCOJET 1708 Combi Blaster is an ASCO dry ice blasting machine capable of dosing an additional blasting agent (known as an additive) into the dry ice stream, thereby offering the optimal combination of gentle cleaning with dry ice pellets and the additional abrasive effect of, for example, sand.

Kurt Schneider is based in Liechtenstein and offers various industrial services, such as dry ice blasting. The applications for dry ice blasting are diverse. Kurt Schneider cleans a wide variety of contaminants, ranging from window shutters and garage doors to applications in the food industry.
