ASCO spoke to N.G. Mathan, the manager of the Crystal Dry Ice Factory in Doha, Qatar. The Crystal Dry Ice Factory produces and distributes high-quality, food-grade dry ice for the Qatari market. As its latest service, Crystal Dry Ice also offers dry ice blasting using the ASCOJET 1708. The company is more than just a dry ice supplier to its customers. It is therefore highly service-oriented and proud of its satisfied customer base.

 

Mr Mathan, what prompted your recent decision to purchase an ASCOJET 1708 dry ice blasting machine?
The key factors in choosing the ASCO 1708 blasting machine were its cleaning capacity, high performance and ice consumption for various tasks. The controllable dry ice flow rate is also important.

In which sectors do your main customers operate?
Our main customers include companies that clean heavy vehicles, as well as those in the aluminium industry and fertiliser factories cleaning heat exchangers.


Does Crystal Dry Ice Factory carry out cleaning work itself or do you rent out the dry ice blasting machine?
The machine is used exclusively by Crystal Dry Ice Factory for its own work and is not available for hire.

What has been the biggest challenge so far with this cleaning work?
Handling the cleaning of convection coils and boiler tubes in confined spaces.
