Our History
1975 – Founded
Thomas M. Trachsel founded ASCO KOHLENSÄURE AG in Switzerland to handle the sales and marketing of a wide range of CO₂ accessories.
1987 – ASCO New Zealand
ASCO acquires Carbonic Industries Ltd, which later becomes ASCO New Zealand.
1993 – First blasting machine
ASCO is producing the “ASCOJET 2001 RS” dry ice blasting machine in series production for the first time.
2005 – ASCO France
ASCO acquires Diffusion Hydraulique S.A.R.L., which becomes ASCO France.
2007 – Acquisition of Messer
ASCO is joining the Messer Group.
2011 – ASCO Eschlikon
ASCO is acquiring Remco in Switzerland to establish a new production site for dry ice pelletisers and dry ice blasting machines.
2014 – ASCO x BUSE
ASCO and BUSE Gastek are joining forces in the field of CO₂ process and dry ice technology. ASCO’s expertise in CO₂ now spans over 130 years.
2016 – ASCO USA
Establishment of the North American subsidiary ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE INC
2020 – Digitalisation
Digitisation of ASCO pelletisers to make production and machine data available on a new customer platform. Remote support and remote monitoring are now standard features.
2024 – New location
ASCO is relocating its headquarters within Switzerland from Romanshorn to Wittenbach.
2025 – EVO-Series
Introducing the latest generation of dry ice machines. From the innovative quick-lock mechanism and a fully closed housing with a condensate drainage system to minimised operating noise levels averaging 65 dB(A) – every aspect is designed for maximum performance and user-friendliness.
