ASCO: Please give us a brief introduction of your company. What are you specialized in?
Dry Ice Creation: Initially, our vision was to create a company that provides everything about dry ice. We want to be able to serve any job or service, any sale no matter how small or large. Our priority is the immediate service of the customer and always with fresh dry ice.
ASCO: Your company was founded in the year 2013 – how has the dry ice market in general developed in Greece since then?
Dry Ice Creation: We founded the company in 2013, but we have been working with dry ice since 2004. As the years went by, we realized that there is a big problem in finding dry ice on a daily basis, and so we created Dry Ice Creation. After 7 years of operation we are proud of the name we created as it is the No. 1 in Greece in dry ice sales. Some of the uses of our dry ice are: medical work, medicine distribution, industrial use, food distribution, artistic events, television, shipyards, international air transport, restaurants-hotels-bars, distribution on all islands etc.
Especially for international air transportation, our company undertook to solve the problem of frozen food shipments of companies around the world, thus establishing close cooperation with the two largest airlines in the world. So now, any company with frozen food or products that need freezing can make the transportation with just a phone call to our offices.... We take care of the rest. We provide the right packaging, according to international regulations, the appropriate labels and the knowledge of the right amount of dry ice that each shipment needs.
ASCO: You offer industrial dry ice cleaning services with an ASCOJET 1708 and an ASCO Nanojet. In which industries are your main customers?
Dry Ice Creation: At the same time when we were establishing dry ice we were dealing with a new industrial cleaning solution, called dry ice blasting. So, as a result, we could talk to the most suitable people who are from ASCO. The truth is that Greece doesn’t have heavy industry as other European countries - you see our heavy industry is the sun and the sea, the holidays and the beautiful ordinary hospitable people on our islands - and these don’t need dry ice blasting. But for the size of industrial production that exists all around the world and especially in food category, dry ice blasting is very useful that several technical managers have heard it but don’t know how to procure and use it. So they definitely need someone to show them a live sample of what dry ice blasting is and how it works in their product and work.
For a year now we have done many demonstrations in several companies and lots of people have expressed interest in either renting a machine or buying it. With the development of this type of cleaning in our country, it is necessary to mention that there is a company that anyone can turn into to get whatever information they need about dry ice blasting. So the interest that is born over the time it is very important for this kind of work but the most important is the name behind this work... and at this point the name of ASCO on the machines is a guarantee for those who go ahead at the thought dry ice blasting.
ASCO: Do you plan on establishing a dry ice production for the distribution of dry ice pellets/blocks?
Dry Ice Creation: It would be normal for you to think that we produce dry ice on our own.... Well no.... Not yet anyway! We cooperate with a large and well-known gas company throughout Europe. So through a very close relationship of trust we work together to develop sales and customer service.
The question you should NOT ask me is, if we could have 4 production machines, if they would be from ASCO. Of course it would be ASCO... what else could they be?
It is ASCO so we can guarantee a non stop production of dry ice constantly. We are sincerely grateful that these machines at our partners production site, no matter how hard they work, the have never betrayed us, no matter how hard we pushed them into production.
ASCO: What are your plans for the future?
Dry Ice Creation: Our vision? Vision as a concept is an idea that becomes a goal and this process never stops because of every people needs. So at this time, one of our visions came true and that is to provide all the solutions for dry ice applications. Regarding our next goal, please allow me not to announce it yet... but in the future I will, for sure!
But when talking about the future, we would also like to make a wish for the whole world no matter where they are... We wish you good health, from the bottom of our hearts, because the problem of the virus has shown us how sensitive our health is and how easily everyone's life is turned upside down. We hope to overcome this pandemic and take our lives and our daily routine back so that we can see smiling people on our way again.
