Beer is an oxygen-sensitive beverage that is produced and bottled without preservatives. Therefore, CO2 is used as a protective gas in the brewing process and during bottling. The liquid CO2 is first converted into its gaseous state by an ASCO atmospheric CO2 vaporizer. In order to be able to supply production and filling with enough carbon dioxide at the same time, a vaporizer with a capacity of 300 kg/h was installed. Beer bottles and barrels are first filled with carbon dioxide gas, this process is called "pre-stressing". The beer is then filled into the bottles and barrels under counterpressure to prevent foaming. This low-air and thus low-oxygen filling process ensures that the bottled beer retains its flavour for a long time.
