ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD spoke with David de Greiff, co-founder of the company La Silesia in Colombia. The company produces dry ice for the Colombian market. De Greiff gives insights into the opportunities and challenges of dry ice in Colombia and which future projects the start-up is planning.

ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD talked to John Searle of the South African company Sidewinder Dry Ice & Gas (Pty) Ltd who have an impressive and successful dry ice production. They own several ASCO CO₂ storage tanks, ASCO dry ice production machines, an ASCO dry ice wrapping machine and an ASCO CO₂ recovery plant.

Sidewinder Dry Ice & Gas (Pty) Ltd introduced dry ice pellets into the South African wineries years ago and played an important role in improving the wines' quality.

In the beginning of this year our customer BERNMOBIL have started to clean various components, such as gearboxes, with our dry ice blasting unit ASCOJET 1701. BERNMOBIL is an independent, autonomous public transport company of the city of Bern. Over 1000 employees and a fleet of over 200 vehicles ensure daily mobility in the city and region of Bern.

“Fraser Valley Dry Ice” provides commercial dry ice for transportation, food processing, dry ice blasting and extraction industries for the local market. After the installation of the ASCO BP420i additional support was done via ASCO i-Series-Technology. The company is based in Abbotsford, British Columbia (Canada).

The company offers industrial automation solutions from Europe's leading manufacturers. EuroMaskin AB has purchased two ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizers A120P (120 kg/hr each) and an ASCO Pellets Bagging Machine PBM500 for their customer in the food industry.

New service offering thanks to connected dry ice technology

ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD now offers its customers additional digital products for their dry ice production. With the launch of the “i-Series product line”, interconnectivity and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) are entering the field of dry ice production with ASCO equipment. Thanks to the use of sensor components and state-of-the-art communication technology, ASCO offers a wide range of services in the areas of remote access, remote data and remote management for dry ice plants of the i-Series line.

Messer France has installed an ASCO CO2 vaporiser (capacity: 1000 kg/h) for a major customer in the south of France. The CO2 is used for growing tomatoes in greenhouses. Compared to a conventional standard electric vaporiser, the ASCO CO2 vaporiser also achieves energy savings of over 95 %.

ASCO talked with Thomas Briand, co-founder of G&B Cryogénie in France, about the development of their dry ice business in France. What started as a service idea in the French shipbuilding industry is today a complete dry ice competence center.

CARBOGAS S.A. in Bolivia is one of the many appreciated long-term customers of ASCO. They operate five CO2 production plants located in four major cities. CARBOGAS S.A. is the largest CO2 producer of carbon dioxide in Bolivia. ASCO has just delivered two brand-new ISO Tank containers for the local liquid CO2 and Nitrogen transportation.

The Swiss brewery "Brauerei Locher AG" in Appenzell (CH) has installed an atmospheric ASCO CO2 Vaporiser (capacity 300 kg/h), which simplifies the everyday process of their beer production. The private speciality brewery produces a wide range of bottom and top-fermented beers from non-alcoholic to strong beer as well as beer mix drinks. Brewery Locher’s most famous beer is the "Quöllfrisch".
