The company is gaining market shares in the soft drinks and energy drinks segment of the beverage industry in Nigeria. With the newly purchased facility, the client will be able to produce high-quality, liquid CO2 effectively, efficiently and safely in the near future and on top of that, to strengthen their position of being of the biggest players in the food and beverage industry in Nigeria. “Supporting the growing strategy of our new customer with our experience of 85 years in building CO2 production plants makes us very proud”, Marco Pellegrino, CEO and Paul Rueegg, Regional Sales Director/ Specialist CO2 Systems of ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD, agree.
An unbroken CO2 supply cannot always be guaranteed, especially in emerging markets. To avoid costly production downtimes and to control their own competitiveness, the Nigerian company decided to invest in its own CO2 on site production with the acquisition of an ASCO CO2 system. Thanks to this investment, 1000 kg of liquid CO2 per hour will soon be produced on the company´s premises. The self-produced CO2 will provide a high purity food grade. This final liquid purity lies even above the required ISBT quality guidelines and therefore completely corresponds with the requirements of food and beverage standards worldwide. The advantages of self-produced CO2 are obvious: the company can produce on demand, thus ensuring a reliable and continuous supply of CO2, moreover, it is a cost-effective alternative to the purchase of liquid CO2.
